Know Thyself

Just as you need to know others to know yourself in a relative sense, you need to know God to know yourself in a absolute sense. (7/16/11) In order to know what something is you must know what it was intended to be. If you saw a new type of tool you would not know what it it was until you knew what was for. In order to for us to know our self we must know what we where created to be. If there is no god than we where not created for any purpose and we can never never know our self. If there is a God than we can only know our self by knowing God and knowing His purpose for creating us.

Self Lovve

Self =love if it is love at all is one of the lowest forms of love. True love seeks not itself. That being said there are basicaly two ways to love our self. One is to say we are good and love us for being good. The other is to admit we are bad and love ourself anyway.

The Emperor's New Clothes.

Some may liken spatiality to the Emperor's New Clothes. They don't see it and they assume that those who say they see it are lying to try to fit in and win the approval of others. There are many instances where this is the case. But how do we know if the others are lying or we are just don't have the gift see what they see? If the child in Anderson's tale was more sophisticated he could have done an experiment to determine if others where ling of if he was just too stupid to see the Emperor's clothes. He could have separately asked everyone who said they say the Emperor's clothes to describe the clothes in detail. If the description's matched by more than could be stylistically accounted for by coincidence than maybe he was just to stupid to see it. If there were clothes that he could not see he could also have a good idea which ones where lying and which ones actually saw it. You could say that there is a conspiracy and that everyone agreed beforehand that the clothes where red or whatever. In the case of spirituality you could say there are books on spirituality so if you ask people what it is like and they say the same thing it could be simply because they read the same books. But true spirituality unlike the Emperor's close does not simply give information about what it is like but changes the person's life. I think most books on spirituality would describe it as love, joy and peace, but it is not simply those who say spirituality is love joy and peace who truly see it, but those whose lives are filled with love joy and peace that see it.

Compartmentalization

The problem with compartmentalization of one's life is that is separates different aspects of one's life. Separation of different aspects of one life causes those aspects that are separated from the spirit to decay.

Bad News

People are drawn to bad news as a way to help them feel better about them self in comparison. It is one of the many ways of self-justification.

Forgivness

To Forgive is to love despite being wronged.

5/19/11 Therefor you can not love someone who wronged you without forgiving them.

6/10/11: In order to feel fully forgiven you must fully admit your wrong.(7/9/11) You can not feel fully forgiven until you have fully admited all your wrongs. (7/16/11) You must abandon all your false self and feel forgiven as the essential self.


Our being forgiven does note save us but our faith in being forgiven does, (9/13/11)
