Hedonism

  1. "Hedonism is the pursuit of pleasure." http://positivesharing.com/2005/09/the-p... (11/22/12)
  2. "The paradox of hedonism is that, pursuing pleasure or happiness for it’s own sake doesn’t seem to make people happy while pursuing worthwhile goals outside of yourself seems to bring about happiness and pleasure as a side effect." http://positivesharing.com/2005/09/the-p... (11/22/12)

Lipid

  1. "Fasting times showed little association with lipid subclass levels in a community-based population, which suggests that fasting for routine lipid levels is largely unnecessary." (Arch Intern Med. 2012;172(22):1707-1710. doi:10.1001/archinternmed.2012.3708., 12/27/12)

Conduct Problems

  1. "Compared with children with no conduct problems, children with reported problems were significantly more likely to have mothers who smoked during pregnancy. They were less likely to be living with both parents and more likely to be in poor general health, to have difficulty being understood, to have a parent who agrees that smacking is sometimes necessary and to be taken to visit other people with children rarely." Devout

  1. "[W]e cannot call him who neglects to observe all God’s Commandments either good or devout, because in order to be good, a man must be filled with love, and to be devout, he must further be very ready and apt to perform the deeds of love." -St. Francis de Sales (12/14/12)

Sadness

  1. Sadness is a spiritual sign of something wrong in the soul just as pain is a physical sign of something wrong in the body and the check engine light a electronic sign of something wrong in the engine. Be thankful for them for they are gifts that will hopefully lead us to resolve the underling disorder. (12/11/12)
