Idiolotry

Some have said pride is the chief sin while others have said idolatry is the basis of all evil. I think the solution to this dilemma a is in seeing pride as the chief form of idolatry in which we make ourselves a god.

9/16/10: We have idols because we falsely attribute to people and objects things (e.g. happiness, comfort, peace, meaning, purpose, freedom and self-worth) for which God is our ultimate source.

12/26/10: Or we love the gifts of God more than we love God.
