The term "premarital sex" is a misnomer. It euphemistically implies having sex with someone before marrying them, however, more often than not those who have "premarital sex" never wind up marrying those with whom they have it. The other problem is that the opposite of premarital sex would seem to be postmarital sex but not all postmarital sex is good. If man has sex with his mistress after marrying his wife, he could be said to be having postmarital sex. I, therefore, prefer the term extramarital sex.
