Diabetes Type 2

  1. Risk Factors
    1.  Rotating night shift work (12/7/11)
    2. Statins (1/22/12)
  2. Treatment
    1. " Intensive glycaemic control does not seem to reduce all cause mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes." (12/4/11)
    2. "...the overall effect of self-monitoring of blood glucose on glycaemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes who are not using insulin is small up to six months after initiation and subsides after 12 months. Furthermore, based on a best-evidence synthesis, there is no evidence that SMBG affects patient satisfaction, general well-being or general health-related quality of life." (Cochrane 1/29/12)
