- “… we know a thing when what it is, is present to our mind.” (Theology and Sanity, page 50 2/2/12)
- All knowledge is ultimately based on faith. The scientist bases his knowledge on observation, however before he can base his knowledge on observation he must have faith that his observations are real. He can not observe that his observations are real; that would be circular reasoning. The mathematician bases her knowledge on logic, however before she can base her knowledge on logic she must have faith that logic is true. She can not prove logic is true using logic; that would be circular reasoning. (6/4/13)
